Pattie Wall's portriat

Here is Pattie Wall's portrait as promised yesterday. My scanner did not copy that well this time for some reason, was having some trouble with the scanner anyway. But it is close enough to the original, of course the original is much smoother and the colors are less harsh, as the hair on the original comes out much softer and blended tones. I do hope she likes it.

Pattie did an exceptional portrait of me and I hope everyone will go look for it at

differentstrokesfromdifferentfolks.blogspot.com/

as well as all the other portraits, there is certainly a multiplicity of techniques, styles and skills posted.
I thank God I was able to finish this portrait just in time and that I am feeling much better recovering from a head cold.

I love your DSFDF portrait. The colors you used were wonderful. I was struck by how eerily similar your poses were though.
:o)

Very nice portrait, Victoria. I agree with Sheila - great colors and the poses are surprisingly similar.

HI Victoria! You have created a great likeness of me! I really like it. I was a little scared, because I sent in two photos, one was a little goofy, and you got the nice one. Thanks Karin! Well, this was fun, and you kept me in such suspense, but it was worth it! Thanks!

Thank you Sheila and Edward for your words of encouragement. I did think the same thing that our poses were very similar. I assumed Karin did too and thought it would be an interesting idea to match us together.

Thank you.

Oh Pattie I'm so pleased you like the portrait! I am so sorry you had to be in such suspense so long and I understand your concerns. I agree it has been a lot of fun. It is interesting that our poses were so similar. Again I am so glad that you like your portrait.

Victoria, what are you and Pattie looking at anyway? Cool painting! I was immediately drawn to the strong colours as well.

Hi Victoria, thank you very much for your wonderful comment about my painting of Karin - it is much appreciated. I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Vern, I was looking at the top of my curtains and a bit at the back of my camera as I lifted it up and thinking I want to think good thoughts, get the lighting right and not look goofy. In fact, it took quite a few photos to get it that way(the others were goofy and the lighting was terrible).

I have no idea what Pattie was looking at but this pose sure has a way of getting people to wonder what we are looking at, HA! Maybe you should ask Pattie?

Thank you for your encouraging comments. I do focus on color and shapes when I paint. But when I draw I focus on line, shape and value.

Oh, I am glad you came over to visit my blog! Thank you for the nice comments. I had noticed this portrait on Karin's blog and made a mental note to check out who had done it when I had more time. I was happy to see it was yours! Beautiful and a very successful painting!

Thank you for stopping by my new blog and your kind words.

Very nice painting! You did a great job on her eyes. I know how hard it is to paint eyes looking up at something. Painting them behind glasses must be even harder.

Hey Victoria! Thanks for the generous comment on the portrait. I had to look up encaustic painting. It's like batik work right? Now that's an exciting medium I'm going to have to look into. THANKS!!

Well - I think for those of you who wondered what we were both looking at - I think it was looking to the future - and thinking about how much we love doing art (or maybe just the fact that great artists think alike, LOL)! Speaking about my photo, I am one of those who is never satisfied with a photo taken of herself...so I set myself up in the RV bathroom mirror (at Thanksgiving - no doubt) and thought not to look straight at the lens..and not to have my arm showing - holding up the camera. You have no idea how many times that shutter opened and closed looking into the mirror that day. I am so pleased with the outcome - because the photo was a little fuzzy, but Victoria did such a super job!

Oh what a great portrait, It's really funny reading about the trials of taking a pictures. Just beautiful

Thank you Dominique for you kind encouragement.

Pattie, interesting about the photo taking, I realized, after I looked at my photo I took, I wasn't looking at the curtains after all but at the light. It took a # of times to get it looking right for me too.
