It's been a long time!

Well, I'm back. Hope to have more paintings to post up by the end of September but here are 2 that I did while I was in the USA, NM. These 2 are acrylic with embroidary lettering sewn through the canvas then re-gessed to seal both sides of the canvas then painted over. I like the glowing 3D effect it gives the painting but I don't always paint on canvas and it really takes a lot of time and is rough on my arthritic fingers, it was a great experiment and I hope to one day figure out a way to do the same things without having to stitch it, otherwise these are the 1st and last I will do with that technique.
When I got back from the USA in June I started up using my oil pastels and color pencils but realized I really do prefer to work with acrylic, maybe with touches of oil bars and color pencils. I have difficulting with the amount of time that I need when I have to deal with color values so I decided to learn to use acrylics making my own process using a classical technique. So far the learning process is going well and I hope to be applying what I learn by next week for my own projects. So far I love the way the practice portraits are coming out, but they are copies of copyrighted images so I do not feel at liberty to post them in public. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will come back. Joy in Jesus
