Joined January 2014 Challenge 30 paintings in 30 days
Joined the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge(can go to the link listed below to see what it is all about)starting Jan 2014. Will start my first painting Jan 2 here in Japan. Some days will be 2 at a time some days will not have any uploads. Will be playing with different media, themes and processes. This is a learning and playing process for me and a way to jump start some things I've been putting off. I'm #315 it is going to be interesting viewing others work too. Hope you can come along on my journey. http://lesliesaeta.blogspot.jp/2013/12/get-ready-for-january-2014-30-painintgs.html

A promise completed as a birthday gift for a dear woman of God, one of her favorite flowers, "Sunflowers". Bible verse is Isaiah 35:1-2 in English, Spanish and Japanese. Used Acrylic paints on canvas, size estimated 18 x 14+inches. Completed July 15, 2013. It was a blessing to be able to do this painting, as it is with all the paintings God has given me opportunity to do. It is only by His grace that I am able to do them for a number of reasons. One day I may be brave enough to share why, I'm not there yet, but know if it wasn't for Him I would have never been able to continue to paint or draw. One thing I can share is that I do have osteoarthritis in my fingers and they have not been any problem to be able to paint, in fact when I paint they are then the least painful. Again I give God the glory for great things He has done in my life through Jesus, my beloved Savior, Friend and LORD.

September 2012 gift portrait
It's been a while but I did finish a gift portrait in September and I am 1/3 done with 3 more. I received permission to share the September portrait. It is acrylic, started out as a pastel but didn't work out so re-did all in acrylic.
I hope I'll have permission to post the next 3, if so they will be up around the end of October.

Finally finished another portrait. I am so thankful that the parents are allowing me to post this publicly. It has been a blessing to be able to do this. I thank God that I am learning so much with this new process. I had to crop the photo by the ear to remove the non-painting background, I am still working on removing the faulty distortions. I've got the colors more correct this time with the photo, though of course the actual painting is much more vivid. I believe I really captured the heart of this special young man, he has been such a blessing to all who know him. Medium: Acrylics. Size: estimate 11 x 16
